The Fried Egg Sandwich

I just dropped my daughter off at her grandmother's house ("Mimi"). Like most Mimi's, she provides a haven of delights. The food is always superb, the treats are always plentiful, the toys are stocked and the list goes on. I am completely thrilled that my children can enjoy these memories.

So can you imagine my shock, followed by joy, at receiving a call (while daughter is at Mimi's) with a request for instructions on how "mom makes fried egg sandwich"!!

And in case you're wondering:

I toast the bread. Fry the egg but leave the yolk mostly soft. Put Mayo on one slice, place the egg on that slice and finish it with a piece of American cheese on top of the egg (and yes, in that order. I do not like my mayo and cheese merging ;).

It Might Take Me A While...

...but eventually I will figure it out. I took my daughter to see "G-Force" last weekend and I was frustrated to not be able to place one of the character's voices ("Speckles", the Mole) but failed to linger in order to catch the credits. Fast forward to last night when I'm falling asleep while thinking about things like what I'm doing this weekend, etc.. One of those things is attending an informal High School Reunion for people that graduated approximately 20 yrs ago (88-90ish). This got me thinking about the movie "Peggy Sue Got Married" which got me thinking about Nicholas Cage's crazy voice he used for "Charlie" and BOOM! Dots were accidentally but finally connected. Ahhh, the little things...

Thanks But I Already Have One

With a name like Edwina I've never exactly been able to find the cute bicycle license plates or key chains, etc.. But apparently two of my closest friends (from the same "circle of friends" group mind you) pick the same bday to get me a Children's Story Book that I had no idea existed (published 2006).

I especially like the part where Shawn inscribes in the book "It finally went on sale!". It's the thought that counts, right? ;)
